IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certified IPC Specialist (CIS)

Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies for Application Specialist

Most electrical/electronic assemblies and products get connected, one way or another, to something else via a cable or wire harness of some sort, or include internal connections and cabling. Faulty cables can be amongst the hardest items to diagnose, especially as many cable harnesses are used in adverse environments such as automotive or aerospace.

You don’t want your products to fail due to a fault in a wire harness

Who should undertake the IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) training?

The IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) training is aimed at anyone needing to understand wether a assembly is acceptable, such as:

  • Assembly operators
  • Quality assurance inspectors
  • Quality Supervisors
  • Goods in inspectors
  • Assembly manufacturing supervisors
  • Production Managers
  • Managers and Directors who wants to understand the impact of quality on their products and processes
  • Anyone responsible for the quality and reliability of electronics assemblies

The IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) training is a modular program. Apart from mandatory modules, your staff may only need elements relevant to your company. However both IPC and ETECH-trainingen strongly recommend that all modules are taken. Omitting modules is unlikely to reduce overall attendance time.

The Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) certification, is granted to each individual who successfully completes the training.

A minimum of at least 70% is required on each closed and open-book test to achieve a pass.

Each IPC course/training provides a global IPC certification valid for two years. For students who have previously achieved their Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) certification within the last two years a relevant Recertification course/training is available.

Certification: 3 days including exam

Recertification: 1,5 day including exam

Challenge test: 0,5 day exam
