Component Identification for Employees in the Electronic Assembly Process
In the electronics and electrical industry, it is necessary that all staff should have a basic understanding of the most common components used in this industry. During this one (1) day course you will learn to recognize the different components and names.
ETECH’s Component Identification is a one (1) day course for staff unfamiliar or new to electronics and electrical industry. The course demonstrates good practice and teaches the skills applicable to Component Identification to those unfamiliar or new to the industry, as well as showing how components are recognised and positioned.
During the training the key components are covered including: Through-hole resistors, capacitors, diodes, potentiometers, pin grid arrays, IC sockets, DIPs, SIPs, transistors, LEDs, inductors, filters, fuses, switches, relays, crystals, voltage regulators, headers and jumpers. Also covers SMT component types (QFPs, PLCCs, rectangular chips, MELFs, SOICs, molded tantalum capacitors, SOTs, DPAKs), leadless components, QFNs, DFNs, LGAs, CCGAs and BGAs. Introduces resistor, capacitor and inductor values and tolerances.
At the conclusion of the Course, students will be subjected to a closed book exam. Students who successfully complete this Course are awarded an ETECH Certification valid for two (2) years. For students who have previously achieved their ETECH Certification within the last two years a relevant Recertification course/training is available.
