Kerkrade, The Netherlands / Manchester, United Kingdom — ETECH Technology Center introduces a new engineering service that helps companies across the electronics industry solve complex technical problems in electronic products and manufacturing processes.
If you have a technical problem…
If no one can identify the root cause…
ETECH Technology Center investigates.
Complex Problems in Electronics
Across the electronics industry, companies regularly face unexpected technical challenges. These may include PCB defects, soldering failures, assembly problems, field failures or reliability issues in cable and wire harness assemblies.
These issues can cause production delays, delivery disruptions or warranty claims. In some cases, companies even face product recalls. As a result, the financial impact can be significant.
A Structured Engineering Approach
ETECH Technology Center operates as an independent technology center with expertise in electronics manufacturing, IPC standards and laboratory analysis.
To address complex problems, ETECH engineers follow a structured investigation process. First, they analyse the technical issue. Next, they perform laboratory analysis when necessary. Finally, they identify the root cause and support the implementation of corrective actions.
Unlike traditional consultancy, ETECH focuses on solving the problem, not only analysing it.
Risk-Sharing Engineering Model
The new service is based on a Risk-Sharing Engineering Model.
“Many companies struggle to identify the true root cause of complex electronics failures,” says Ramon Essers, CEO and CTO of ETECH Training. “Our goal is not only to analyse these issues, but to help solve them in practice. By linking part of our compensation to the value created for the customer, we ensure that our success aligns with solving the problem.”
Projects usually begin with an investigation phase. During this phase, ETECH analyses the technical issue and determines the root cause.
The investigation fee remains intentionally low. Therefore, companies can start an investigation without a large upfront investment.
If ETECH successfully resolves the issue, a success-based fee may be agreed. This fee depends on the economic value created by solving the problem.
For example, the value may include:
- Restored production capability
- Avoided scrap or rework costs
- Prevention of product recalls
- Protection of customer contracts
- Other measurable financial impacts
If the problem cannot be resolved despite reasonable engineering efforts, no success fee will apply.
Three Pillars of ETECH Technology Center
This new service strengthens ETECH’s role as an independent technology center that supports the electronics industry through three core pillars:
• Training in electronics manufacturing and IPC standards
• Laboratory services including failure analysis and technical investigations
• Technical problem solving and root cause analysis
Global Support
ETECH Technology Center supports electronics companies worldwide. Companies can start projects and investigations through ETECH offices in Kerkrade (The Netherlands) or Manchester (United Kingdom).
